Running rounds with Repeat

Tick Repeat and the timer restarts on its own about a second after each alarm. For a game night with eight players and 60-second turns, that is eight alarms per round with nothing to press. Pause with Space during rules arguments and resume after. The repeat timer page explains the option in detail.

Slow-player rules that stay friendly

What about chess?

A chess clock needs two clocks that alternate, and aTimer runs one. As a workaround for casual games, open the stopwatch and press L at the end of each move. The laps list shows how long every move took, which is enough to keep a friendly game moving. For rated play, use a dedicated chess clock.

Longer turn limits start from the 2 minute timer.

Frequently asked questions

How do I set a 90-second turn?

Click the digits, type 1 in minutes and 30 in seconds, then press Enter. Or add ?m=1&s=30 to the address.

Can the timer run turn after turn by itself?

Yes. Tick Repeat. After each alarm the same length restarts automatically, so the next player just goes.

Is there a chess clock?

Not yet. Use the stopwatch with a lap for each move as a workaround, or a dedicated two-sided chess clock for timed games.
