60 second timer
A free 60 second timer that starts with one key and repeats on request. It loads the same length as the 1 minute timer. This page is about the things people count in seconds: holds, rounds and games where every second matters. Also searched as 60 sec timer, 60 seconds timer, sixty second countdown.
Sixty seconds, measured out
| Use | How the minute is spent |
|---|---|
| Handwashing, twice | Two full 20-second scrubs plus rinsing and drying. See the handwashing timer. |
| One-minute plank | A common milestone after the 30 and 45 second holds. |
| Speed rounds | Name as many capitals, verbs or chemical elements as you can before the alarm. |
| The 60-second pitch | Problem (15 s), solution (25 s), proof (10 s), ask (10 s). |
| Minute-to-win-it games | Stack cups, move cookies from forehead to mouth, keep balloons in the air. |
| EMOM sets | Every minute on the minute: do the reps, rest for what is left. |
Repeat for rounds
Tick Repeat and the minute restarts itself about a second after each alarm, which is exactly what EMOM training needs. The interval timer page covers the other common schemes. For games, leave Repeat off so the "Time's up" overlay freezes the moment the round ends.
Keyboard tips for game night
- Space starts, pauses and dismisses the end-of-round overlay.
- R resets to a full minute for the next player.
- F puts the ring on the TV in fullscreen.
For shorter rounds try the 30 second timer; for a little more breathing room, the 90 second timer.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as the 1 minute timer?
Yes, both load 60 seconds. This page focuses on tasks people think of in seconds, such as speed rounds and holds, but the timer behaves identically.
How do I run one-minute rounds back to back?
Tick Repeat. The alarm sounds at zero and a new minute starts about a second later. Press Space to pause between rounds if you need a longer gap.
Can I count up instead of down?
Switch to the Stopwatch tab or open the stopwatch page. It counts up with hundredths of a second and records laps with the L key.
