Lap timer

A free lap timer that opens in stopwatch mode with a one-key lap button. Press Space to start and L for each lap, with no fumbling for a small phone button at the track. Also searched as split timer, lap stopwatch, lap counter timer.

How laps are shown

Each lap gets a row with its number, the split (time for that lap alone) and the total elapsed time. The newest lap sits on top, so the number you need is always in view. Hundredths of a second are recorded. The plain stopwatch page uses the same engine.

Running: target 400 m splits

One track lap is 400 m. To hit a 5K goal, aim for these even splits and press L at the line.

5K goalPer 400 mPer mile
20:001:366:26
22:301:487:14
25:002:008:03
30:002:249:39

For a mile, four laps plus about nine meters: your 400 m split is your mile goal divided by four, give or take a second.

Frequently asked questions

How do I record a lap?

Start the stopwatch, then press Lap or the L key each time a lap ends. The newest lap appears at the top with its split time and the running total.

Can I export or save my laps?

There is no export feature. Laps stay on screen until you press Reset, so copy them by hand or take a screenshot before resetting.

Does the lap timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. It is driven by your device clock, so the elapsed time stays correct in a background tab. The tab title shows the running time.
