15 second timer
A free 15 second timer with a big ring and an alarm you can hear across the room. It is faster than scrolling a phone's timer wheel to a quarter minute, and it repeats with one checkbox. Also searched as 15 sec timer, 15 seconds timer, quarter minute timer.
What fits in 15 seconds
- The rest in a 45/15 interval. Many HIIT timer schemes use 45 seconds of work and 15 of rest. Run this timer with Repeat and count three beeps of work, one of rest.
- Mouthwash. Most labels say to swish for 30 seconds; a 15 second round per side keeps it even. The 30 second timer covers the full rinse.
- Mindful chewing. Fifteen seconds per bite slows a meal down noticeably without feeling silly.
- Sprint repeats. Fifteen-second hill sprints with a long walk back are a common beginner interval.
- Quick-fire answers. Fifteen seconds to respond keeps a classroom review game moving.
Repeat for intervals
Tick Repeat and the countdown restarts itself about a second after each alarm. Because every round is the same length, intervals that mix work and rest are done by counting beeps, as in the 45/15 example above. The interval timer page lists the common schemes.
Shorter and longer
Need something tighter? The 10 second timer is the Tabata rest length. For measuring instead of counting down, open the stopwatch and record laps with L.
Frequently asked questions
How do I run 45 seconds of work and 15 seconds of rest?
Set 15 seconds and tick Repeat. Work through three beeps, rest for one, and repeat. Rounds run slightly longer than 15 seconds because of the alarm.
Can I start the 15 second timer without clicking?
Yes. Press Space to start or pause, R to reset and F for fullscreen. Keys work as long as you are not typing in the time editor.
